In 19 February 2011 Dr. Peter Malinowski, lay Diamond Way Buddhist teacher, co-founder of the Liverpool Diamond Way Buddhist Centre and trustee of Diamond Way Buddhism UK, and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University participated, on behalf of Diamond Way Buddhism UK and John Moores University, in the UNESCO Association for Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue annual congress in Malaga, Spain, as one of the key speakers.

In a panel discussion concerning the meeting of Science and Spirituality, Dr. Malinowski joined speakers: Dr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, President of the Foundation Culture of Peace; Dr. Ignacio Nunez de Castro – Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the AMU; Dr. D. Juan Martín Carpio – specialist in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, writer and researcher of medical traditions in ancient Egypt; and Dr. Carlos Garcia Moses, Master Teacher of Meditation and Raja Yoga.

Later in the day another panel discussion on Science and Religion included speakers from four of the main religions: for Islam, Haider Isli, a journalist, expert on Islamic issues, and member of FEERI (Spanish Federation of Islamic Religious Entities ); for Judaism, Professor Leon Ben Gigi; for Christianity, Aurelia T. Bautista, a biologist and teacher; and for Buddhism: Hans Peter Gomez, Coordinator of the Diamond Way Buddhist Centre in Malaga.
